Select Section Order in GMAT went live July 11th 2017.
The GMAC, the organization behind the the Graduate Management Admission Test, a test necessary for the admission at many universities or Business schools, announced last week, that an important change will take place within the test.
Starting July 11th, students can actually choose the order in which they complete the different parts of the Test.
Since for most testtakers, especially in Germany, only the overall Score (200-800 points) is relevant for their application, they only focus on the Quant and Verbal part. In the standard order, those parts have been sorted to the end of the test, when the concentration level is already low.
Now testtaker can switch the order and start with the relevant parts, when they are still fresh and relaxed. This is a huge advantage for most of the testtakers.
The order can be chosen at the beginning of the test ut of three options:
- Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, Verbal (original order)
- Verbal, Quantitative, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing Assessment
- Quantitative, Verbal, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing Assessment
Furthermore, GMAC adapted their prep test software that is offered online for free. Now this order selection can also be simulated within the prep software, so students can simulate and play around in order to find the best individual order to pick.
Since it is quite unusual that the GMAC is adapting such relevant parts of the GMAT this is quite a significant and noteworthy change.
